Barossa Gas Project: Learn more

“The culture needs to be alive, we need to keep it alive! Without people teaching, we will never see it, and it will be lost forever.”

This is just a snippet from our chat with Patti, a Gomeroi Elder who played such an important role at last week’s Santos Festival of Rugby. Patti teaches traditional dance at the local school and her mission is to pass on her culture to the next generation.

During the Welcome to Country, spectators enjoyed a traditional performance where local children had the opportunity to shine and express through dance their strong connection to their land.

Santos proudly respects culture, and we are committed to supporting events that bring people together, providing opportunities and positive impacts for local communities.

Watch to learn more about this passionate and inspiring woman who dedicates her time to keeping young people connected to their identity and cultural heritage.
