Moomba CCS: Delivering real emissions reduction Find out how
We contribute to job creation and local employment to support economic stability and growth. We work with local businesses to support local and Indigenous participation through our supply chain.
We also invest in local communities to improve living standards, build respectful relationships and create stronger communities in the areas where we operate.

Our material topics

Santos aims to make meaningful, positive, long-term contributions to the economy and the areas and the communities where we operate.

Our approach

Our approach focusses on:

  • procurement practices and local content
  • paying our taxes and providing a return to the community
  • community investment Strategy and Framework
  • creating jobs beyond Santos
  • community partnerships and Santos Foundation: investing in capacity-building and needs-based priorities to have a positive impact on communities’ well-being and long-term development.

Community investment

Santos’ Community Investment Framework sets out our three focus areas of Resilient Communities, Economic Pathways, and Environment. This enables us to make meaningful, sustainable investments with our community partners.

Santos Tax Commitment

Santos will comply with the taxation law, rules and regulations of each jurisdiction in which we operate while seeking to align tax outcomes with commercial objectives.

In making this commitment, Santos will not participate in tax evasion or avoidance schemes.

The Santos Board and Management are committed to the highest standards of corporate governance, which includes our approach to tax risk management. The Santos Tax Policy is reviewed and approved bi-annually by the Board and is designed to meet expectations of the community and the tax authorities, including the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) in relation to managing tax risk.

Tax risk is a specific matter within the scope of the Audit and Risk Committee, which reports to the Santos Board.
