Barossa Gas Project: Learn more
Summary

Raworth 1

Santos Ltd, as Operator for the South West Queensland Unit, announces a successful gas exploration well in the Queensland sector of the Cooper/Eromanga Basins.

The exploration well, Raworth 1, flowed gas at 145,000 cubic metres per day (5.1 million cubic feet per day) from reservoir sands in the Permian Patchawarra Formation over the interval 2053m – 2065m through a 13mm (0.5″) surface choke.

The Raworth 1 gas discovery follows the recent discovery by the South West Queensland Unit at Coonaberry 1 and the successful gas appraisal well Wippo East 2. Raworth 1, which has proved significant hydrocarbon generation in this lightly explored area, has matured additional leads for future drilling.

Raworth 1 is located 55km east of the Ballera Gas Centre and some 18km south east of the Roti gas field.

The well will be cased and suspended as a future gas producer.
