Deputy Chairman of the Board Announced
The Board of Santos Ltd is pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Gerlach has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board.
This appointment follows the announcement made on 5 May 2000, by Mr. John Uhrig AC that he would be retiring as Chairman of the Board at the conclusion of the Companys Annual General Meeting in May 2001. It is intended that Mr. Gerlach will succeed Mr. Uhrig as Chairman of the Board at that time.
Mr. Gerlach has been a Director of the Company since 5 September, 1989 and is a member of the Audit and Environmental Committees of the Board. He is a Director of Southcorp Holdings Ltd, Futuris Corporation Ltd and Elders Rural Services Ltd and Chairman of Elders Australia Ltd, Equatorial Mining Ltd and Amdel Ltd.
