Santos has signed a five year extension of its Cooper Basin crane operations contract with South Australian business Max Cranes.
Max Cranes is a South Australian owned and managed crane provider, based in Port Augusta. The company employs 123 people in South Australia, with 27 directly supporting the Cooper Basin.
This contract is a five year extension of the current agreement, awarded in 2016 following a competitive tender process.
Santos Managing Director and CEO Kevin Gallagher said Santos is committed to benefitting the communities in which it operates, and always looks to local suppliers first.
“I am delighted to extend this important contract to local South Australian company Max Cranes. It has been a very reliable and competent contractor in the Cooper Basin for years,” Mr Gallagher said.

Max Cranes Director Graham Elliot said the Santos contract extension is a big moment for the company.
