Barossa Gas Project: Learn more

Santos is proud to support the Top End’s biggest mass-participation sporting event, which celebrates a special 50th anniversary this year.

Launched last week on the Nightcliff foreshore, the Santos NT City2Surf is a popular community event that, on 4 June, will see the Darwin esplanade converted into a racetrack for thousands of runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels.

Race Director Leanne Chin said it was incredible to think the event had survived the aftermath of Cyclone Tracy and the COVID pandemic without interruption.

“The first run was in 1974 and we’ve had an NT City2Surf every year since then thanks to a keen group of passionate runners,” she said.

“It’s a beautiful Dry Season run that the whole family can take part in, from the experienced marathoners to joggers, sprinters and even the walkers”.

Last year’s male winner, Tim Hewitt, was on hand to launch the 50th edition, accompanied by four students representing the local Nightcliff Middle School Clontarf Academy, who participate every year thanks to Santos.

Santos has been naming rights sponsor of the NT City2Surf since 2020 and we are proud to enable a healthy fun run activity for all Territorians and those who come from far and wide to participate. Entries are now open for this year’s event at www.ntcity2surf.com.au. Get training!
