Barossa Gas Project: Learn more

Santos Ltd, as Operator for the Nappacoongee – Murteree Block, announces the discovery of two new gas fields in the South Australian section of the Cooper/Eromanga Basins.

The wildcat well, Milluna 1 flowed gas at 211,000 cubic metres (7.45 million cubic feet per day) from reservoir sands in the Early Permian Patchawarra Formation over the interval 2209m – 2223m.

The wildcat well, Bauhaus 1 flowed gas at 23,800 cubic metres (0.84 million cubic feet per day) from reservoir sands in the Early Permian Patchawarra Formation over the interval 2699m – 2708m.

Both tests were conducted through a 13mm (0.5) surface choke. Evaluation of wireline logs indicate gas bearing sandstones over a gross interval of 116m in Milluna 1 and 518m in Bauhaus 1.

The Milluna 1 well is located 4.3 km north east of the Goyder gas field and approximately 38 km south east of Moomba. Its proximity to the Goyder discovery will facilitate its early connection.

Bauhaus 1 is located 18 km to the west south west of Milluna 1.

Both wells will be cased and suspended as future gas producers.
