Santos today announced the appointment of Jane Hemstritch to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Ms Hemstritch was Managing Director Asia Pacific for Accenture from 2004 until her retirement in 2007. In this role, Ms Hemstritch was a member of Accenture’s global Executive Leadership Team and oversaw the management of Accenture’s businesses in the Asia Pacific region.

During a 25-year career with Accenture and Andersen Consulting, Ms Hemstritch worked with clients across Australia, Asia and the US. She was Managing Director, Resources Operating Group Asia Pacific from 2004 to 2007 and Country Managing Director Australia from 2003 to 2005. She has broad experience across the oil and gas, telecommunications, government, financial services and manufacturing sectors.

Ms Hemstritch currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Tabcorp Holdings Limited and The Global Foundation. She is a Member of the Research and Policy Council of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia.

Ms Hemstritch holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Physiology. She is a Fellow of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants in Australia and in England and Wales, and is a member of Chief Executive Women Inc.

Santos Chairman, Peter Coates said he was delighted that Ms Hemstritch has joined the Santos Board of Directors.

“It is very pleasing to appoint a new director with such broad experience. I am confident Ms Hemstritch’s extensive background in the resources and related sectors will enable her to make a significant contribution to Santos,” Mr Coates said.
