Runnells 7 Further Extends Previous Discovery

The Runnells 7 appraisal well logged 35 metres (115 feet) of net Frio gas sand. The well, located in Matagorda County, Texas, is a continuation of the Grand Slam field delineation. Runnells 7 is currently at the original target depth of 4,450 metres (14,600 feet). The working interest owners have agreed to drill the well an additional 122 metres (400 feet) deeper to test a deeper potential pay interval and to improve the correlation to both the seismic data and the existing wells.

Runnells 7 is the third well on the structure. Runnells 3, the field discovery well is currently producing at a gross rate of 9 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) with 300 barrells per day (bpd) of condensate. Runnells 5, the first delineation well, is currently producing at a gross rate of 18.6 MMscfd with 600 bpd of condensate. Runnells 5 proved an additional 23 metres (75 feet) of the gas column in the field. The Runnells 7 well has proved a further 9 meters (30 feet) of gas column. First production from the Runnells 7 is anticipated before the end of this year.

Santos USA Corp owns a 29.1% working interest in this well and the 704-acre Runnells Gas Unit. Other owners include Esenjay Exploration, Inc., (33.0% WI, operator) and Samedan Oil Corporation (23.3% WI).
