Barossa Gas Project: Learn more

Santos is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Stuart-Grant to the Executive committee of Santos.

Mr Stuart-Grant will join Santos on 1 August 2023 as Executive Vice President Santos Energy Solutions. This comes as part of an updated organisational structure that will provide a stronger regional focus.

Following the implementation of Santos backfill and sustain, decarbonisation and clean fuels strategy announced last November, the updated structure provides a regional operating model with a strong local focus.

The changes will also further improve alignment to deliver Santos’ net zero scope 1 and scope 2 emissions by 2040 commitment while maximising shareholder value.

Under this model, three regional business units will focus on the enabling and execution of corporate strategy. Additionally, two functional divisions will be accountable for global portfolio management and strategy – Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids.

As part of the simplified operating and functional structure, the following appointments have been made, effective 1 June 2023.

  • Brett Woods has been appointed Executive Vice President – Western Australia, Northern Australia and Timor-Leste (WA, NA &TL)
  • Brett Darley has been appointed to the role of Executive Vice President – Eastern Australia and Papua New Guinea (EA & PNG)
  • David Banks has been appointed to the role of Executive Vice President, Upstream Gas and Liquids Division

All other executive roles remain unchanged.

Mr Stuart-Grant joins Santos from Ampol where he served as Executive General Manager, Growth and Development. Prior to Ampol, Mr Stuart-Grant held a senior position in the oil and gas department of Glencore plc, which followed more than a decade of experience in private equity and investment banking in Sydney, London, and Singapore.

Mr Stuart-Grant holds a Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) degree from the University of Bath and is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
