MICA 1 NEW GAS FIELD DISCOVERY

Santos Ltd, as Operator on behalf of the Patchawarra Southwest Block Joint Venture Parities, announces the discovery of a new gas field in the Cooper/Eromanga Basins.

The block gas exploration well, Mica 1, flowed gas at 182,300 cubic metres per day (6.44 million cubic feet per day) with 51 API condensate at 33 kilolitres per day (211 barrels of condensate per day) from reservoir sands in the Early Permian, Patchawarra Formation, over the interval 2730m to 2742m. The test was run through a 13mm (0.5) surface choke.

The Mica 1 well is located 7.5 km west of the Kanowana Field and approximately 42 km northwest of the Moomba gas plant.

The well reached a total depth of 3063m. The well will be cased and suspended as a future gas producer. The Mica discovery follows on from the recently announced Moonanga discovery that flowed 254,860 cubic metres per day (9.00 million cubic feet per day) in the Patchawarra Southwest Block.
