Santos has commenced preparations to transfer water contained in Tintsfield Pond #2 to our state of the art facility at Leewood.
Santos was able to commence the work after approval from the PAC – which was sought in November last year – was granted this month.
The EPA has this week issued a notice requiring Santos to effect the transfer, an action already underway.
As was detailed in our statement on June 5, the removal of water from the pond is part of finalising extensive work on decommissioning and upgrading water storage facilities constructed by a previous operator in and around the Pilliga in north west NSW.
