The safety of the community and our workers is the highest priority at this time and we are working with local authorities to ensure all parties are safe during this protest action.

Santos is committed to working collaboratively with the local communities in which we operate and we enjoy broad support within the Narrabri Shire. We aim to ensure that local communities can easily access information about our operations, with dedicated community and land access teams based in our Narrabri and Gunnedah shopfronts.

Santos has a long track record of working respectfully with landholders in regional areas over many decades. We have agreements in place with over 300 landholders in Queensland and 40 in New South Wales.

While we acknowledge and respect the right of individuals to lawfully and safely protest, there must also be respect for our workers and contractors on site. We are committed to carrying out our work in a safe and sustainable manner. Santos has received all necessary regulatory approvals to carry out this work, which is placed in a section of the State Forest specifically zoned for natural gas development.
