Santos is delighted to announce that it will continue its long and proud association with the Tour Down Under, signing a new three year naming rights sponsorship deal.

Santos Managing Director and CEO Kevin Gallagher announced the commitment at the Santos Tour Down Under Legends’ Night Dinner in Adelaide, honouring the stars of the cycling world.

“We have been celebrating 10 years as major sponsor this year and so it was my pleasure to announce our long term partnership will continue,” Mr Gallagher said.

“Santos is South Australia’s biggest company, providing more than 3500 jobs across the country. Just like our company, the Santos Tour Down Under delivers for the economy, last year generating $63.7 million in economic impact for South Australia.”

“Santos is committed to benefitting the communities in which we operate. In 2019 the Santos Tour Down Under is passing through 98 towns, making this truly an event which showcases the natural beauty, clean environment and diverse nature of our great state to Australia and the world.”

“The Santos Tour Down Under has great alignment with our community investment objectives – to support healthy living, regional communities and the environment.”

South Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment David Ridgway said Santos’ support since 2010 had been integral to the ongoing success and growth of the event, which now consists of a men’s and women’s UCI race and a broader entertainment festival – the Santos Festival of Cycling – in its own right.

“We are thrilled that Santos has committed to extend its partnership with the Tour Down Under for another three years,’’ Minister Ridgway said.

“Santos should be commended for its new three-year investment which also strives to ensure continual growth of the Women’s Tour as we work towards our ultimate goal of UCI WorldTour status.”

For more than 60 years, Santos has been safely and sustainably developing Australia’s natural gas resources, working in partnership with local communities.

“Natural gas, proudly produced by Santos, is a reliable, affordable and cleaner fuel for the future, improving lives in Australia and Asia. It’s the perfect partner for renewables, quietly powering Australia 24/7 when the wind doesn’t blow or the sun doesn’t shine,” Mr Gallagher said.

“And Australians can be proud of what our natural gas is achieving in Asia, by replacing coal and dirty fuels it’s bringing more blue skies and cleaner air for millions of people by cutting pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.”
