Barossa Gas Project: Learn more

Santos has been awarded off-shore exploration acreage in the Duntroon Basin, 70 kilometres south of Port Lincoln, off South Australias Eyre Peninsula.

This is Santos first exploration acreage in South Australian waters.

The Federal and South Australian governments have jointly awarded the Duntroon Exploration block EPP32 to Santos. The block covers 5,315 square kilometres and is in water depths between 50 and 3,300 metres.

Santos has been awarded the block for six years and has agreed to a work program which may result in up to $12 million being invested in exploring for oil and gas.

The Duntroon Basin acreage adds to our growing off-shore acreage portfolio and in particular builds on our off-shore southern Australia acreage, said Santos Managing Director, Mr John Ellice-Flint.

Santos will have a 100 per cent interest in EPP32.

Santos is a major Australian oil and gas explorer and producer with interests in all Australian hydrocarbon provinces. The Santos Group also operates in the USA, Indonesia and PNG.
