Santos Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, David Knox, today announced a number of executive appointments.

Brett Woods, currently General Manager WA & NT, has been appointed Vice President Eastern Australia. Brett will be responsible for production, development and commercialisation of the company’s oil and gas resources in Central Australia and offshore Victoria.

“Brett brings extensive subsurface experience and expertise to the leadership role in Eastern Australia as we focus on costs, innovation and operational delivery,” Mr Knox said. James Baulderstone, currently Vice President Eastern Australia, has been appointed Vice President Corporate Development. In this role, James will be responsible for corporate development, public affairs and sustainability, and will retain responsibility for the company’s New South Wales assets.

Both Brett and James will report directly to David Knox. “James will apply his considerable commercial, legal and strategic expertise to this key role,”

Mr Knox said. Joe Ariyaratnam, currently Manager Northern Australia and Technical, will replace Brett Woods as General Manager WA & NT, and will report to John Anderson, Vice President Asia, WA & NT.

“These changes strengthen our focus on maximising shareholder value as we transition from a high capital spend phase to one as an efficient and low-cost operator,” Mr Knox said.
