Barossa Gas Project: Learn more

Santos today announced the appointment of Andrew Seaton to the role of Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

Mr Seaton will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer when Peter Wasow retires at the end of 2010.

Mr Seaton, 45, joined Santos in 2005 and has over 20 years oil and gas experience, encompassing finance, banking and engineering roles.

He is presently General Manager Commercial and Finance for the Eastern Australian Business Unit with responsibility for all, commercial, finance, marketing, planning and business development activities. In 2008, he was instrumental in securing the GLNG joint venture partnership with PETRONAS, and previously held the position of Group Executive, Investor Relations.

Prior to joining Santos, Mr Seaton worked in senior roles in investment banking with Merrill Lynch and corporate banking with National Australia Bank, and was involved in a broad range of equity, debt, hybrid and M&A transactions.

Santos Chief Executive Officer, David Knox said he was pleased to appoint a strong internal candidate to the Deputy CFO role following an extensive search process.

“Andrew’s finance and banking experience makes him an ideal successor for this key position, and his deep knowledge of the company will ensure an orderly transition as we move towards FID for the GLNG project”, he said.

Mr Seaton has an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.
