Barossa Gas Project: Learn more

One of Santos’ major community initiatives in Exmouth – the redevelopment of the local recreational precinct – is starting to take shape!

Santos has provided funding to the Shire of Exmouth to help redevelop the popular recreational area for locals and tourists. The redevelopment will include an upgrade to the outdoor cricket nets and half basketball court, creation of a new outdoor exercise area and nature play area, mini cycle path for kids and general upgrade to amenity including the skate park.

The new outdoor exercise area and nature play area were installed on Friday 8 April, with the remainder of the upgrade planned for completion by the end of 2022.

Santos’ Mitch Sherston, Brent Peters and Aileen Stewart, in Exmouth for a series of Community meetings, took time out to inspect progress on the development.

The precinct is an extremely popular spot for local families and people passing through Exmouth and located adjacent to the Exmouth Sports ovals and recreation centre.

Providing activities and facilities for families in Exmouth, and particularly the youth of Exmouth, has been a high priority for the Community.

The project will be completed just in time for the 2023 total eclipse when Exmouth is planning to host in excess of 40,000 visitors keen to see the eclipse at its best.
