Barossa Gas Project: Learn more

For over 20 years Santos has proudly supported the Darwin Festival, allowing community members from the Northern Territory to attend a free spectacular festival for all ages.

Held over 18 exciting days and balmy nights in the tropical Top End, the Darwin Festival is the Territory’s unique international arts festival with a rich program of events featuring local, national and international artists.

The Santos Opening Night concert took place last Thursday at the Darwin Amphitheatre with over 7,000 spectators keenly awaiting the Buŋgul performance, which had been postponed last year due to COVID outbreaks. The event featured a special Welcome to Country by Dr. Richard Fejo, with mesmerising traditional songs, dances and paintings that inspired Dr Gurrumul’s album Djarrimirri (Child of the Rainbow) in a live performance by Yolŋu dancers, songmen and the Darwin Symphony Orchestra. A stakeholder reception was held in conjunction with the Northern Territory Government in the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens. Chief Minister Natasha Fyles, Darwin Festival Chief Executive Officer James Gough and Artistic Director Felix Preval, and Santos President Midstream & Clean Fuels Brett Woods officially opened the 2022 Darwin Festival with many key stakeholders in attendance.

Congratulations to all involved, including the impressive performers, for creating this wonderful showcase event!
