2011 Sustainability Report
For Santos, sustainability is a way of doing business that improves outcomes for employees, shareholders, business partners and the communities in which it operates.
As well as producing positive outcomes for all stakeholders, sustainability improves Santos’ efficiency and profitability as it strives for a leadership position in the energy market.
Santos views sustainability not as an absolute, but as a spectrum of progress, development and continuous improvement.
Santos reports quarterly on its sustainability performance to the Chief Executive Officer and the Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability Committee of the Board. Santos released its first sustainability publication in 2004, and reports its calendar year sustainability performance annually in March.
This report provides a summary of Santos’ sustainability performance for 2011, with further information on business performance and governance provided in its companion document, the Annual Report 2011.
