Location
Wortel is located in the Sampang Production Sharing Contract (PSC), offshore East Java in Indonesia.

Discovered
The Wortel field was discovered in September 2006 by the Wortel-1 exploration well.
Production
Gas production commenced on 1 February 2012 from the Wortel project.
Gross gas production from the combined Oyong and Wortel fields is expected to be 90 TJ/day.
Facility details
The Wortel development includes two gas wells, an unmanned wellhead platform and a 10-kilometre gas pipeline to the existing Santos-operated Oyong facilities.
Gas will be exported via an existing piepline to the Grati processing plant, where it is sold for domestic power generation.
