UPPER HUNTER

The Santos Community Committee – Upper Hunter was established in 2011, as part of Santos’ ongoing coal seam gas exploration in the Upper Hunter Shire area.

The Committee was established by Santos, is independently chaired by Mr David Ross and has good representation from throughout the local community.

The Committee members include:

  • Mr David Ross, independent Chair.
  • Mr Sam Crafter, NSW manager community and government relations, Santos.
  • Ms Cate McMahon, team leader community engagement, Santos.
  • Cr Michael Johnsen, Upper Hunter Shire Council representative.
  • Mr Sean Constable, manager economic development and tourism, UHSC.
  • Mr Wayne Bedggood, president, Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association.
  • Mrs Paula Stevenson, Save Bunnan representative.
  • Mr Graeme Brown, Merriwa Healthy Environment representative.
  • Mr Steve Guihot, local business owner and Kingdon Ponds Water Users representative.
  • Mr Peter Bishop, Merriwa resident and landholder who has negotiated with Santos.
  • Mr Peter Miller, Scone resident and employee in the mining industry.
  • Mrs Kathy Burns, Scone resident and employee in the equine industry.

*Cr Pam Seccombe is alternative representative for the UHSC and Mr Don Eather is alternative representative for Save Bunnan.
