Women's Champions: the Santos Fearless Divas.
The Perth event took place under hot conditions on Sunday 11 March at Langley Park. Despite temperatures hitting the high 30's, Santos MDE (Michael Hackett, Erin Sutton and David Slocombe) finished 59th and the Santos Sandys (Kerstin Sommer, Ngaire Long and Simon McMahon) finished 115th out of 177 teams in the Corporate Mixed race.
The following week, 18 teams represented Santos in the 2012 Nissan Corporate Triathlon event at West Lakes. It was a very successful day for the Santos Teams, with the Santos Fearless Divas (Jasi Watson, Sam Nunan and Sarah Westmoreland) winning the Corporate Female race and the Santos Triple B’s (Hugh Banister, Glen Lydyard and Chris Sproston) finishing 2nd in the Corporate Male race.
In addition, the Santos Dark Knights (Derek Seret and Wil Cibich) also came 5th and the Santos Wildcats (Cameron Brown, Chris Longwell and Glen Lydyard) came 7th in the Corporate Male race, a result made even more impressive because Derek and Glen both filled in as last minute substitutions after already running the course once.
Due to the high number of registered teams for the Adelaide race, Santos also won the Participation Award.
The Sydney and Gold Coast events take place in April and May respectively.
