Despite some rain, hundreds of Maranoa residents and visitors turned out to celebrate this important development in the region.
The upgrade of Roma Airport is the Maranoa Regional Council's largest ever project and involved the construction of a new terminal and car park as well as the extension of the existing runway.
Recognising the importance of this project in line with our commitment to improving local infrastructure, Santos GLNG invested $2.5 million in the airport upgrade and expansion.
It will now be able to facilitate more weekly flights, larger planes and improved amenities to support the future growth anticipated for the region.
At 1,000m2 in size, the new terminal is four times the size of the former facility and features a three bay check-in counter, departure lounge, Wi-Fi access, car rental check-in and baggage claim.
