Cooper Basin staff at Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games

03 May 2010

Back: Simon Harmsen, Dan Solowij. Front: Damian Pontt, Brett Franklin, Gary Churcher.

A team from the Cooper Basin emergency services department collected 14 medals at the recent 2010 Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games in Hobart.

Lining up against 1300 other competitors in a range of events, the five-man team collected medals in every event they entered.

The medal tally was the result of 12 months of hard training to ensure the team was at its competitive best.

Santos was the team’s major supporter, with Chubb Fire, Protector Allsafe, Drager Safety and Fire Rescue Australia also contributing to uniforms and equipment.

Seasoned campaigner Damian Pontt extended his thanks for the continued support, saying “we had a fantastic time in Hobart, and we’re looking forward to once again representing Santos and the department at the 2012 games in Christchurch.”
