Santos employees volunteered at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Special Olympics Australia National Games in Adelaide on Monday, 19 April.
The 28 volunteers helped organisers during the hours leading up to the ceremony and handed out Santos clappers to the audience. The ceremony was held at the Distinctive Homes Dome and featured live performances, the parade of athletes, the athletes’ oath, the lighting of the cauldron and the official opening by South Australian Governor Kevin Scarce.

More than 850 athletes with an intellectual disability are competing for the chance to be chosen to represent Australia at the 2010 Special Olympics Summer World Games in Athens, Greece.
