Santos VP Eastern Australia James Baulderstone delivered the keynote address at the SACOME annual industry dinner earlier this week at which Santos was honoured with a 2012 Premier’s Community Excellence Award in Mining and Energy.
The Premier’s Community Excellence Awards in Mining and Energy recognise that resource companies contribute not just economically but also socially to the South Australian community. They represent an opportunity for companies to be publicly acknowledged for their achievements, and also for the industry as a whole to showcase their commitment to community excellence.
In 2011, Santos invested $7.1 million into 75 community partnerships in South Australia. During the year, more than 550 Santos employees donated nearly 3,000 hours of their time at Santos-sponsored events or programs and over 100 Santos employees contributed skills and time to 10 different Santos sponsored education focused programs, helping over 280 children. In the area of fundraising, employees raised over $200,000, with Santos matching or contributing funds towards their efforts.
