Perth office shines at annual City to Surf

31 Aug 2011

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Annual City to Surf in Perth.

Over a quarter of the Santos Perth office participated in the annual City to Surf fun run last weekend in perfect conditions.

The event has grown a lot in recent years and now includes four kilometre, 12 kilometre, half and full marathon distances. Santos’ employees all performed well, but special mentions go to WA & Offshore Australia Drilling and Completions Manager, Manny Sessink and Manager Carnarvon Oil & EH&S, Glen Herrera, who were brave enough to take on the half marathon.

In the weeks leading up to the event, Corporate Lawyer, Rochelle Youngson had been coaching some boys from the Clontarf football academy for the 12 kilometre event, along with a few Santos colleagues. Santos is a supporter of the Clontarf Foundation, which uses the passion young Aboriginal men have for Australian footy as a motivation to help them improve their education, discipline, self esteem, life skills and employment prospects. The Clontarf team enjoyed the run and joined the team in the Santos marquee after the race for some well-deserved refreshments and post-race wind down.

Congratulations to everyone who took part.

  1. Congratulations. Exercise is definitely a great thing to do for your body and for your mind. If your physical and mental balance are in good condition you will achieve great things.
