Daffodil Day a success at Santos

Santos staff in Adelaide raising funds for the Cancer Council's Daffodil Day.

Santos employees in Adelaide raised $1,630 on Daffodil Day last Friday, 26 August, which has been donated to the Cancer Council SA.

Staff set up a stall in the Santos Centre lobby to sell merchandise and accept donations from employees and visitors throughout the morning. The money raised will go towards providing a cancer patients with support and information resources to help them through their cancer journey, running the Cancer Council Helpline, training Cancer Connect volunteers who provide one-to-one support for people diagnosed with cancer, and visits to a community to educate health professionals and to visit and support patients and carers.

Troy Flower, Cancer Council SA General Manager Business Development, said “We want to thank everyone at Santos for your ongoing support. Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day is an important day for people living with cancer. The generosity of the Santos ‘community’ is very much appreciated as is the company’s commitment to the making a real difference. On behalf of those impacted by cancer, we thank you and your wonderful team.”

This year Daffodil Day aims to raise over $9.5 million to fund the cancer control initiatives, patient support and research services of Cancer Council's eight state and territory member organisations.
