Captains Starlight with fans Emily and Ashton Lamshed (who belong to Santos' Mel Lamshed).
Santos employees in Adelaide raised $1,330 on Starlight Day last Friday, 7 May, which has been donated to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Staff set up a stall in the Santos Centre lobby to sell merchandise and accept donations from employees and visitors throughout the morning. The money raised will help Starlight to deliver its much-needed programs to support children in hospitals – including Starlight Express Rooms, Starlight Fun Centres and the popular superhero Captain Starlight.
This fundraising complements Santos’ existing support for the Starlight Children’s Foundation as Foundation Partner of South Australia’s first Starlight Express Room, which opened at the Women’s and Children’s hospital last month.
Julie Mullen, Starlight SA State Partnerships Manager, said: “Starlight doesn’t receive any government funding, so the support and contribution from Santos staff for Starlight Day has been essential and fantastic – a great team effort. Thank you for helping us to make a positive difference.”
