Santos has donated $25,000 to the Roma Combined Christian Churches Flood Appeal after floods hit the town again last week.
The donation is expected to assist with Roma’s ongoing flood recovery and further illustrates a commitment to the communities in which we operate.
Santos’ presence was also felt on a more personal level by business owners, with Santos employees actively lending a hand in and around Roma.
The Roma Dental Centre narrowly avoided flooding, and principal dentist Hezel Cohen was grateful for the number of Santos staff who willingly unloaded sandbags and helped protect their business.
“We were suddenly surrounded by numerous people wearing Santos shirts,” she said.
“It was a sobering, mind-blowing experience, that in the midst of disaster, people today are still willing to help each other out without expecting anything in return.”
Santos is proud of our employees’ efforts and hopes the donation to the Combined Christian Churches Flood Appeal can help other local businesses in their recovery.
Santos donated $50,000 to the 2010 Roma flood appeal.
