Barry Sheridan, winner of the Santos Desert Country competition, admiring the ‘Seven Sisters’ painting he now owns.
The Santos Desert Country competition has been drawn with Barry Sheridan of Coromandel Valley announced as the winner.
Congratulations to Barry, who is now the proud owner of the ‘Seven Sisters’ painting by Desert Country artist Tjungkara Ken.
The competition, which received 6,000 entries, was held to complement Santos’ sponsorship of the Desert Country exhibition.
Desert Country is the first exhibition to chart the 40-year evolution of the internationally acclaimed Australian desert painting movement.
Following a successful season at the Art Gallery of South Australia, the exhibition will open in Perth in May.
Santos’ contribution will fund the staging of Desert Country in Adelaide as well as a two-year national tour.
