Santos’ Cooper Basin employees and contractors raised more than $5000 as part of the Shake the Boot charity campaign, which will go towards the Adelaide Women's & Children's Hospital Newland Ward Burns Unit.
Shake the Boot is an annual, state-wide fundraising event held by the APFF to raise money to assist burns survivors.
Boot-shaking in the Cooper Basin was led by Santos emergency services officers, who are members of the Australian Professional Fire-fighters Foundation (APFF), which runs the fundraising campaign.
The APFF is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to burn prevention as well as survivor support and recovery programs in South Australia.
This year, more than $30,000 was raised by members of the APFF, which include the Metropolitan Fire Service, Adelaide Airport, Santos Cooper Basin Emergency Services and other professional fire fighters from across the state.
David Pritchard, Cooper Basin Team Leader Emergency Services, said: “We would like to sincerely thank all those people who helped make our second APFF Shake the Boot fundraising event a huge success once again. The outcome is testimony to the great kindness and benevolence of the entire workforce here in the Cooper Basin.”
