2010 Tour winner Andre Greipel.
Twenty-eight Santos employees volunteered at the Special Olympics.
The Santos Tour Down Under and the Special Olympics National Games were recognised at the South Australian Tourism Awards last week.
The Tour took out the major festivals and events category, edging out the Clipsal 500 and the Adelaide Fringe, while the Special Olympics won the festivals and events category.
This 2010 Santos Tour Down Under drew record crowds of more than three quarters of a million people, including nearly 40,000 visitors from interstate and overseas – providing a $41.5 million boost to the State's economy.
The Special Olympics, held in April this year, saw more than 800 athletes with an intellectual disability and 3000 families, friends and supporters converge on Adelaide. The event provided over $3 million in economic impact to the state and also generated $3.9 million in media coverage and an estimated $2.7 in future tourism.
Plenty of Santos employees donated their time to make both of these events a success. Thank you to all.
