Santos hosted a tent at Ecofest 2010 in Gladstone.

Santos' GLNG project hosted a tent at Ecofest 2010 in Gladstone on 6 June, with the local community out in droves at the event in the city’s Tondoon Botanic Gardens.

The GLNG tent was popular with adults and kids alike, with its Chinchilla White Gum display and environmentally friendly GLNG tote bags filled with Frisbees made from recycled plastic, colouring-in books made from recycled paper, sunscreen and solar-powered key rings.

GLNG’s presence at Ecofest 2010 gave the project another opportunity to engage the local community and promote its environmental credentials, in particular the major plantation established using coal seam gas water near Fairview.

Ecofest is the Gladstone Regional Council’s way of working with industry, business and the community to highlight and celebrate environmental initiatives taking place in the region.

Combining education and fun, there was plenty on offer for people of all ages with information booths, bushwalking, crafts, games, animals on display and live entertainment.
