Santos has pledged $50,000 to the Roma Combined Christian Churches 2010 Flood Appeal, which comes in response to the town’s worst flooding in recorded history.
The announcement was made by local Anglican priest Father Stuart Webb at a community barbecue at Roma’s Cultural Centre last Friday evening.
Maranoa Mayor Robert Loughnan personally thanked Santos for its contribution to the local community in the wake of the floods, as many employees helped locals to safety and with clean-up efforts.
Sam Klaas, Santos’ Area Manager Queensland CSG Fields, said that "as a long-term member of the Roma community, Santos is more than happy to contribute to the flood appeal”.
“A number of our local team members were directly impacted and many others were involved in relief efforts.
“The entire Roma team has welcomed the decision by Santos to support the flood appeal as a means of providing direct assistance to those in need."
